Some questions to Brendan:

  1. Where do you work and what do you do there?
I am currently working as a senior software engineer for GBE Limited, developing software solutions for the Gaming industry. The main technologies I work with are C# and SQL server.
  2. How long are you working in this industry?
I graduated from Coleraine Universtity almost 12 years ago and have been working in the software industry ever since.
  3. What are your hobbies?
I enjoy running, a good book or a good gig. I also follow Tottenham Hotspur although that is not always fun.
  4. Do you have any pets?
    I have no pets.
  5. What is your favourite food?
I really enjoy all Indian food.
  6. What is the last book you read and the last movie you saw?
The last book I read was "The Book of lost things" by John Connolly and the last movie I seen would be "Juno". I would recommend both.
  7. What do you think about the developers industry in Ireland?
Small, competitive with loads of opportunity to get involved in innovation and new technology.
  8. What really annoys you?
The overcrowded trains on the Maynooth commuter rail.
  9. What would you bring to a desert island with you?
I would bring my favourite book "The Count of Monte Cristo" for inspiration and of course my IPod.
  10. If you could change one thing about the computer industry in Ireland what would that be?
I think this has been said before but I believe companies need to promote software careers a lot better here.  My brother is currently in college and his knowledge of the industry comes purely from family members as opposed to the industry itself.li>
